Japanese brands continue to maintain their leadership across the world, and experts express keen interest in understanding the potential future impact of the increasing number of Chinese models. The average age of vehicles is rising fast and the surge in connectivity is poised to bring about substantial transformations. Analysts from KPMG and Xerfi provide valuable insights into the dynamics of the global fleet, a promising arena for the aftermarket.

1.6 billion vehicles (including 410 million commercial vehicles across all categories) were on the road in 2023 on planet Earth. Asia accounts for more than a third of the global fleet, followed by Europe (28%) and North America (24%).
