Analysis: The average age of cars is increasing globally

The average age of vehicles is rising fast and the surge in connectivity is poised to bring about substantial transformations. Analysts from KPMG and Xerfi provide valuable insights into the dynamics of the global fleet, a promising arena for the aftermarket.
1.6 billion vehicles (including 410 million commercial vehicles across all categories) were on the road in 2023 on planet Earth. Asia accounts for more than a third of the global fleet, followed by Europe (28%) and North America (24%).
