For its 50th anniversary, the biannual ‘made in France’ trade show confirmed its central role in the aftermarket landscape and, above all, reaffirmed its international status. With Paris becoming the ‘global crossroads’ of the ecosystem for a week, the organisers aim to build on their success and broaden their horizons even further.

We demonstrated at this 2025 edition that Equip Auto is truly representative of the international scene”, says Philippe Baudin, the show’s chairman. The figures offer the proof in the pudding: 55% of exhibitors came from 35 foreign countries and 48% were new exhibitors; 18% of the 91,500 visitors to the show came from 118 foreign countries. This international outlook was also illustrated by the increase in visits from diplomatic delegations from Germany, Belgium, China, Egypt, Spain, Morocco, Czechia, Slovakia, Tunisia, Türkiye and other countries: the result of a vast international promotional campaign that took the organising teams to 20 countries to fly the flag for Equip Auto.

Opening up new destinations

This unprecedented mobilisation in the two years leading up to the show speaks volumes about the energy expended to open up new horizons. “We have just celebrated 50 years of Equip Auto Paris and from 30 March to 2 April we will be celebrating 20 years of the Algerian edition... These events help to establish our brand, which is fully committed to expanding elsewhere. Together with Claude Cham, President of SAS Equip Auto, we have always maintained that wherever the automotive aftermarket develops, we can consider setting up one of our highly targeted events there.” This objective is all the more important given that the epicentre of automotive production has shifted to other areas, “notably China, which has become the world’s leading producer of motor vehicles”. “And since our mission is to support the aftermarket, we have a duty to explore these new areas and transplant the DNA of Equip Auto there.

While the desire to export the model is clear, it remains to be seen where and when opportunities will arise, given that Automechanika already runs a dozen trade shows outside Germany. While the chairman of Equip Auto remains discreet about any ongoing negotiations, he promises new developments for 2026!
