While in France, Arval is still exploring the possibility of contracting maintenance and repairs to brands other than those of the manufacturers from which the leasing company buys its vehicles, its subsidiary Arval Italia has integrated the option of all-make repairs into its network of service centres

It entrusts the 228,000 vehicles in its fleet to a network of more than 10,000 repair shops, the vast majority of which are all-brand, bodywork and mechanical garages. Since mid-2018, Arval has taken a further step by officially announcing its “Arval Premium Center” network.

Two tiers of service

Recruited from the pool of 10,000 partner garages, there are already 185 premium centres, certified by the Rina Services certification body, which meet strict specifications (reception area, a guarded car park, a range of services such as vehicle collection and return, washing and disinfection, a courtesy vehicle and, of course, all-make maintenance and repair). Arval Italia adds almost 1,000 “Arval Center”, which can only provide a single service, but which is also certified. This two-tier network is set to grow. For dealers purged by the European network restructuring operation, this type of service offers diversification openings. Arval’s Italian experience also shows a way forward to independent garages wishing to shift upmarket by meeting the expectations of the customers of these fleets.
