How have you done in 2022 on a global level?

Bruno Vianello: We have surpassed the €170 million mark for sales (+10% compared with 2021). This growth is organic, and 75% generated in Europe. In general, the garage equipment world tends to be contracyclical, consequently, despite the negative trend in the world economy, there has been a clearly neutral trend and even a positive one. We offered solutions that cope with the growing complexity of the most recent vehicles, characterised by the huge presence of secure gateways, and the need to build solid agreements with equipment suppliers. Europe is experiencing a strong technological upshift, in particular with ADAS and the introduction of hybrid and electric vehicles. In the North American market, where we have been operating for more than 10 years, we are continuing to build our structure, thanks to the recent partnership agreement with the VSG group covering solely air conditioning recharge stations. In Asia, on the other hand, our growth has been more moderate due to continuing anti-Covid precautions.

Have you experienced supply chain interruptions?

B. V.: We haven’t been hit by a single one, for several reasons: firstly, we have never offshored! All production phases are located at our headquarters in Italy, which enables us to be reactive to quickly replace components and find alternative solutions. Next, as far as possible, we try to use Italian and European suppliers. Finally, we are in constant contact with our clients, set out valid long term forecasts and maintain constant warehouse size.

“We have never offshored!”

How is the IAM changing?

B. V.: I should mention our voice assistant, Axone Voice, our new flagship (voice-activated diagnostics). At Automechanika, we also gave pride of place to solutions offering technical and commercial complementarity between diagnostics and geometry. Finally, we are going to transfer the experience we acquired in OEM in the hybrid/electric sector with the eFluid solution in the independent workshop area.

What are your next challenges?

B. V.: Every entrepreneur should have at least a 10-year vision, even if today that’s harder than ever to do. But it is precisely in this perspective that Texa has decided to invest in alternative propulsion. With regard to production sites, our philosophy has always been to not offshore, which in the long term has turned out to be an astute decision for stability and the ability to follow the increasingly frenetic developments in vehicles and markets. Finally, sustainability is an essential trend from an environmental point of view of course, but also from a social point of view, and that goes hand in hand with continuous investment in new technology and the ability to anticipate customer needs.
