Growing European and global aftersales
After the 2020 “airpocket”, aftermarket activity continued to recover on all global markets. The United States and China have exceeded 2019’s aftermarket turnover, the pre-Covid benchmark year.
On the other hand, Europe will need to wait until 2023. According to Temot* estimates, the EU automotive aftermarket should end 2022 with turnover of $104 billion (€98 billion), 5% growth compared to 2021. Note that the sector has not yet returned to the level of business of 2019. This growth is below the 7% mark recorded on the main world markets** for a total of $417 billion (€393billion), more or less on the same trend as China or the USA.
ITGs have extended the outlook to 2025. Over the period2020-202 global growth should reach 5.7%, to reach nearly $480 billion (€452 billion). According to this assumption, Europe would increase by 8.5% ($114 billion - €107 billion), while the United States would post a 10% rise ($108 billion - €101 billion) and China 17% ($68 billion - €64 billion).
